Northwest EMS (Kenora)
The Kenora District Services Board’s Northwest EMS will be at the Toronto Congress Centre on November 2nd for the 2025 Paramedic Career Fair. Our EMS staff will be on-site to share a day in the life working as a Primary Care Paramedic in Northwestern Ontario and why choosing Northwest EMS to start or continue your career is the right choice.
KDSB Northwest EMS operates Paramedic services across the entire Kenora District which includes nine Municipalities, four Unincorporated Territories, and 19 First Nation communities. This region offers countless outdoor recreation opportunities, freshwater lakes and rivers to explore, and wilderness adventures to discover all year-round. The cost of living in the Kenora District is significantly lower than in other parts of Ontario. Housing is particularly affordable, providing comfortable living options at a fraction of the cost found in larger cities. Despite the lower cost of living, wages in the region remain competitive, providing residents a higher quality of life. KDSB NWEMS has the ability to provide free housing to select understaffed communities. KDSB NWEMS Paramedics are some of the most highly trained Primary Care Paramedics in the province. With each ambulance offering power load and power stretchers, the latest Advanced X Series defibrillator/monitors, advanced airways (i-gel), IV certification for all Primary Care Paramedics and automatic compression devices. This offers Paramedics the most cutting-edge technology and equipment to assist them in their duties. KDSB NWEMS offers an Education Cost Recovery program that offers up to $4,000 back per year for two years to assist in the repayment of tuition, fees, books, and supplies for new recruits. If you are looking to start a new adventure and do vital work in your community, KDSB NWEMS is the Paramedic/Land Ambulance service you want to be a part of!
